made Budhiana

Made Budhiana was born in Denpasar in 1959. He is a graduate of the Institute of Indonesian Arts (ISI), Yogyakarta. He has won numerous art awards since 1979, including the prize for 'Best Non-Realist Painting' awarded by both PORSENI Yogyakarta and PORSENI Indonesia in 1984. He was twice awarded the 'Pratisara Affandi Adhi Karya' from ISI Yogyakarta in 1985 and 1986. In 1997, he received the 'Bali Art Award for Best Painting'.

Budhiana has participated in numerous group exhibitions in cities throughout Indonesia and overseas in France, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, the USA, Japan and Singapore. He has had solo exhibitions at the The Northern Territory Museum of Arts and Sciences, Darwin, Australia (1989), Cemeti Modern Art Gallery, Yogyakarta (1989), Bali Hilton, Nusa Dua (1991), Ganesha Gallery, Jimbaran (1998), and Sika Gallery, Ubud (2001)
